More and more brides are choosing to have an understated city wedding these days. And what better city to host your wedding than London? Because this city of unending surprises has village-like atmospheres scattered across its postcodes. And for a chic city bride, chic wedding accessories are an absolute must.
The Winter Golden Hour
We shot this photoshoot for The Boutique (home to Victoria Millésime) in January this year. While it was absolutely freezing with near zero temperatures, the light was just incredible. Because the golden hour just before dusk, as it’s known in photography circles, when the light becomes golden and shadows long and deep, is the most stunning time to shoot. And our model looks just incredible in her chic wedding accessories. She invokes Chanel style with her effortlessly cool look and slim fitted gown by The Boutique’s resident dress designer Lucy Martin Bridal.
Shooting on Film
Photographer Natasha Hurley shot most of this photoshoot on film. Film is a fast growing trend within wedding photography. Because film photography gives such a soft, generous light to images which digital just can’t reproduce. As a result, if you see two images – one on film and one on digital – side by side you can immediately tell the difference.
All the Chic Wedding Accessories
For this shoot we chose a selection of chic wedding accessories to complement the overall cool, understated style. Therefore beaded 1930s style bridal cap along with a sparky Jazz Age Bridal Cap and a birdcage veil were the perfect finishing touch for the model’s accessories.
